The empty shelves are a reflection of our reaction to the events of and nothing more. What made this year worse than shortages in the past are the multiple shortage-causing events that took place. Which started shoving consumers into other places to purchase. Then we had the events in Virginia. What we had in inventory left the building gone, just gone. We shipped more in that month than we did the first two years I worked here, put together.

So then obviously after the COVID stuff started to hit, you had the riots, then you have an election and then you have the person who wins the election happens to be a Democrat. That makes five what would normally be shortage causing demand issues in one year. So, when can we expect to see something that resembles normal? Well, that remains to be mystery but speculation in the industry says around two years.

Although upcoming events could possibly keep us in a higher demand for a while longer. If they start to enact gun-control measures as soon as they take office, we could potentially see yet another scenario of higher demand as well, keeping us in this limbo of empty shelves for even longer.

With the way the incoming administration has acted towards guns in the past, I am afraid this is what we will be facing come January. This may not bring the good news you wished to hear, but hopefully it will shed some light on the situation as a whole.

That uneasiness has led to the next reason ….

If people are clamoring for it, someone will be there to snatch up whatever inventory they can get their hands on, drastically jack up the prices, and resell it for a more-than tidy profit.

Remember when everyone was running out and buying toilet paper by the truckload? Of course, you do. You bet it was, because everyone knows that a single person could easily get by for an entire year with one economy-sized package of TP well, my goodness, I sure hope so, anyway — if not, see your doctor immediately. What are the real facts behind the ammo shortage in America?

All of the above. The ammo crisis is tailor-made to attract this type of unethical entrepreneurship as well. To combat scalping, many stores have imposed strict buying limits on customers and chosen to remain tight-lipped about scheduled delivery dates. Sadly, certain brick-and-mortar stores across the country are in cahoots with scalpers as well.

He recognizes he can make a little side money if he sells a quantity of his ammo back to the retailer for.

The store then adds their margin, say. Of course, this practice is not representative of all retailers. Many out there are doing whatever is necessary to avoid gouging customers. Is the end in sight? Both Taylor and Vandenbrink referenced back orders that extend well into And that time frame does not necessarily account for the changing political climate in the US and the potential for more social unrest.

However, consumers can rest assured that ammunition manufacturers are doing everything they can to continue pushing out rounds in record numbers. Until supply rises adequately to meet demand, remember your manners — avoid the temptation to hoard ammunition and share it with those in need.
